We joyfully welcome our new Rector, Fr. Tony and his wife Elena. We have eagerly awaited their arrival. Join us in the Parish Hall following the 10:00am Worship service for the celebration of their being here with us. This will be your opportunity to welcome them personally.
Sunday Forum will resume January 8 in the Parish Hall at 9:00am with Becky Snow and Anne McCollom leading the continuing discussion of the Anglican Covenant.
Godly Play will resume January 8.
White Gifts We will celebrate Epiphany Sunday next week January 8, 2012, with the annual ingathering of White Gifts during both morning services. This Outreach Ministries project focuses on those in our community who need extra assistance during the cold winter months. Like the Magi who journeyed to present their gifts to the baby Jesus, we travel down the aisle to place our more practical offerings at the altar; items such as new sleeping bags, coats, sweaters, blankets, non-perishable food items and new small appliances. All gifts should be wrapped simply in white. Monetary contributions in the form of checks in white envelopes may be brought to the altar and placed in the waiting white basket. Afterwards the gifts will be transported to the Ashland Community Food Bank, Uncle Food’s Diner, the Ashland Homeless Shelter, and the Maslow Project for distribution to the homeless and others in great need. Annual Reports are needed from each of the committees for the Annual Meeting, February 12. Please send them by e-mail to the parish office by January 20.
Vestry Nominees Four parishioners whose names were submitted by you have been nominated by the Vestry Nomination Committee. They are Bruce Duncan, Norma Grenfell, Nancy Linton, and Russ Otte. A biography of each of the candidates is in the January Trinitarian.
Supplemental directories are available in the office and parish library.
Trinity Trekkers See the Trekkers pictorial display on the bulletin board at the far end of the Parish Hall. All are invited to come and join the group. A map shows the Ashland Street location where they meet on Wednesday mornings. Contact Maggie McCartney at 541-488-5276 for more information.
Volunteers Needed: During the winter, the Presbyterian Church opens a shelter on Sunday nights and any night when the temperature is below 20 degrees. They are in need of volunteers. They have a male and female host and they serve generally less than ten people. The volunteers need to sleep over on the floor and help clean up in the morning. If you are interested email Ruth Coulthard. Sara Hopkins
Food Bank Sign Up. Yes, it’s that time again. Trinity will be staffing the food bank on Mondays for four months. January, February, March and April. I will need twelve eager, hardworking people and three to four substitutes also. If you are willing and interested, please sign up on list in the parish hall. Helping the clients shop for their food is rewarding and fun. And remember it’s only one Monday per month. On the sign up sheet, let me know what Monday every month you would prefer.
